Tues. 11.12.19 – Happy November Full Moon for those of you who can see it. Late yesterday evening, I took the Nikon out to the Embankment bridge to photograph the Full Moon rising over The Shard and the Thames. Due to large clouds hugging the first 10-15 degrees up from the horizon, I was out of luck.
While I persevered out in the cold and damp for nearly an hour before I gave up, I was able to take a number of good shots of the storm clouds and the London skyline. The above is one of my two favorites from that hour.

Sun. 11.03.19 – Driving back from Arizona along Rice Road / CA Hwy 62 westbound through the desert just a bit after sunset and the first quarter moon was high up in the southern sky. It was beautiful.

Tues. 09.11.18 – The beauty of Venus and the new Moon setting behind Wheeler Ridge, Eastern Sierra Nevada Mountains, California.

Tues. 08.14.18 – The great thing about the early evening sky this summer is that four of the five visible planets have been strung out like little jewels across the southeastern to western night sky: Mars, Saturn, Jupiter, and Venus. Here is a photo of Mars rising next to the Newland power plant.

Tues. 08.14.18 – While the true August new moon was on Saturday the 11th, this evening was the visible separating conjunction of Venus and the three day old moon. It was lovely.

Photo of the Marble Arch at Dusk taken on Fri. Nov. 10, 2017 approximately a half hour after sunset when all the lights would be on but still some light in the sky for the Black & White No Explanation Challenge on Instagram. This is the original color photo before I used the Instagram editing features to make it B&W to post on that site.
All seven original color photos can be found at my Patreon.
Tues. 01.31.17 – Mars is also conjunct the Moon and Venus, but in this twilight is only visible at 1:1 magnification as a light dot.

Sun. 12.11.16 – At Roland’s request, I am going to start posting my photos from my film project of 2015 and 2016. I will post both the scanned film photo unretouched and the digital – usually camera phone – photo I took as a reference photo.
These two photos were taken on April 17, 2016 at dusk from Huntington Cliffs / Dog Beach looking across Long Beach bay to Palos Verdes. The photo on the Left is the Fujifilm Velvia 50 color slide film taken with my Nikon FM3a camera and a 50mm f/1.8 lens. The photo on the Right is taken with my Nokia 808 PureView camera phone. Both are not processed other than adding keywords and metadata.
