Thurs. 11.14.19 – One of my favorite things to do when I am visiting London is to take a long walk in the park(s) every day. If it is warm, I will only walk through Kensington Gardens and Hyde Park, but if it is cold I will keep walking through Green Park to St. James’ Park. If I go the whole way to the far end of St. James’ Park, it is 2.47 miles one way and my fitbit is nearly ready to have a fireworks party.
I don’t find this walk boring, as the plants, trees, and animals are always up to something new, and the people are good to observe as well. I will listen to music, or a podcast, or take the earbuds out and listen to all the sounds in the park and the roads near by.
I have several favorite year around trees, but in early spring and late autumn there a few trees that go all out. The above trees and clouds are winning for the mid-November 2019 autumn finale spectacle.

02.26.19 – Testing posting to this blog from my phone’s browser, as the official Android WordPress app will not save a post, it just throws error messages. Also, I am testing out an Android app, Photo Exif Editor Pro, that allows one to add exif artist/author data to a photo.
How are we at 2019 and I can’t set my name and preferred copyright into my camera phone’s camera settings to automatically write the data to the exif metadata? Adobe Lightroom for Android does not allow you to make a watermark, although they allegedly do for iOS.

Sun. 11.18.18 – Yes, I am back in London to write. I find that I write best here, for a number of reasons both known and rather mysterious to me. When I am home in California, I can muster 2000-4000 words per month, hardly words enough to finish a short story in reasonable time – let alone a book. When I am in London, I can reach that word count in two days or less.
The last two years of US politics have heavily weighed me down and when I get to London, as long as I stay off of the news and social media sites, I am able to feel slightly bouyant again. At least here, I can float in my imagination – unfettered from the fecal matter of US politics – long enough to create and write.
While I am not participating in the NaBloPoMo nor NaNoWriMo, I am doing my best to restart my blogging practice in a more regular fashion – albeit in clumps – as well as finish writing a few stories and a book.
Here I am for a month. Let’s see how much writing and editing I can get done. Wish me luck.

Sun. 12.11.16 – At Roland’s request, I am going to start posting my photos from my film project of 2015 and 2016. I will post both the scanned film photo unretouched and the digital – usually camera phone – photo I took as a reference photo.
These two photos were taken on April 17, 2016 at dusk from Huntington Cliffs / Dog Beach looking across Long Beach bay to Palos Verdes. The photo on the Left is the Fujifilm Velvia 50 color slide film taken with my Nikon FM3a camera and a 50mm f/1.8 lens. The photo on the Right is taken with my Nokia 808 PureView camera phone. Both are not processed other than adding keywords and metadata.

Mon 10.14.16 – In going through my photos taken in October and November 2016 with my Nikon D800 and a Nikon 50mm f/1.4G lens, I have found a few gems to share with you all. This photo was taken on 10.06.16 just south of the Huntington Beach pier from the boardwalk on an evening where the colors of the sunset were fantastic, so I had to pull over while driving on PCH to go out and take photos.
Enjoy. Double click for larger version(s).
Sun 11.13.16 – Late this afternoon, I drove down to the Bolsa Chica Ecological Reserve Station at the corner of Bolsa Chica Ave and Pacific Coast Highway to take photos of the Almost Super Moon as it rose in the late 4 o’clock hour. After all the photos were taken, I drove to the Huntington Cliffs parking lot at the top of Dog Beach to take photos of Mars, Venus, and Mercury in the last of the dusk. Afterwards, I walked Belle le Cane along the Cliffs. It was a lovely start to the evening.

Tues 05.24.16 – Driving westbound on Hwy 58 from Barstow to Kramer Junction, I got stuck behind this rather delightful old railway car being inexplicably transported by truck rather than rail. The sun was setting in front of us, the truck was driving less than 51 mph, so I took a photo.
