Sat. 11.09.19 – Photo of lock, chains, and leaves taken by Ms. Jen today with her Samsung Note 9 camera phone.
Tues. 11.05.19 – Today I had places to be, errands to run, check lists to check off, and friends to visit in LA… Of which, then I had a rash of random men stop me at each errand to talk about something.
The first two men were EV Prius Prime curious and wanted to know if the car was really worth the extra $3k beyond the standard Toyota Prius.
Me: Yes, it really is. Truly. It is amazing. Yes, it is plugged in at this free Volta EV Charger here at this shopping center. Yes, I have gotten up to 124 mpg on a tank of 10 gallons of gas. Yes, in that instance, I drove for three weeks around SoCal without stopping for gas. Yes, the average is around 80mpg when I can’t charge as much. No, I don’t have access to a charger at home.
etc etc etc.
On my third stop, when I had less than 10 minutes before I had to get on the road to drive an hour to LA to visit dear friends, I met the TALKING CREEPER DUDE.
At first Creeper Dude was just overly friendly 65+ SoCal granddad guy, then when I walked out to my car to leave, he followed me and kept touching me.
I have lived in LA for just over half a century. I know this guy. I have met many iterations of this guy and they all stink.
I very nicely listed off my 36 years of photographic experience from punk rock to rock worlds, published magazines, early digital days, and all the years of Nokia travel – of which was all without his help – and then said:
“Now, I don’t do paid photo work. I drive out to the desert and take photos of the stars as a meditative exercise for me. Not for money, but for me.”
Then the f’er tried to kiss my wrist.
Oh. Hells. No.
I got in my car and drove off.
Then by the Grace of All of the Deities that rule SoCal/LA traffic, I got to Culver City in less than 50 minutes from Huntington Beach. Shocking.
11.01.19 – It is that time of the year again, November has arrived. And thus starts my favorite time of the year: Autumn and Winter.
Happy Diwali! Happy Halloween! Happy Dia de Muertos! Happy All Souls/All Saints Day!
Happy start of NaBloPoMo! Yes, I will do my best to post daily here this month!

Thurs. May 9, 2019 – Happy 21+29th birthday to my brother Joe! May it be a very good year.
Sat. 11.10.18 – On our afternoon walk, Sweet Pea stopped to enjoy the sunshine next to a pine cone. It was too picturesque…
Sun. 08.26.18 – One week and one day ago, Miss Sweet Pea, the small dog formerly known as Cindy Lou Who, joined Casa de Mobile Hanen as the Dog in Residence.
So far, so very delightful. Miss Pea is approximately 8 or so years old (6-8 according to Dr. Kali), in her previous life before rescue she lived outside in a backyard somewhere in SoCal. She now lives inside with multiple walks a day.
Just yesterday she realized that chipmunks were prey and got SUPER EXCITED at every chipmunk movement, smell, and burrow. Walks are extra more anticipated now…

Wed. 25 April, 2018.
When I was a young teen, I attended several sleep-overs where late at night some of the girls played the ‘parlour game’ Ouija.
Not me, as I was tucked into my sleeping bag trying to go to sleep. When they would encourage me to get up and join them, I would decline. One time I watched the first ten minutes of the proceedings but was considered a joykiller as I kept asking if it wasn’t their hands moving the game piece to get the answer they wanted.
I was sent back to my sleeping bag.
The second time this happened, I was in the state of nearly asleep when my friend Tiffany screamed, “Jenifer!! The Ouija board says you are going to die in your forties!”
“That’s nice, I am going to sleep.”
Fast forward to yesterday. My fiftieth birthday. As of today, I am officially completely out of my forties and am not going back.
Take that, Tiffany’s Ouija board!
