Wed 11.30.22 – Here is a photo that I took last night of Jupiter, bright, and the Moon, shining, in the cold snapped southwestern sky. Photo taken with my camera phone, so it is not particularly light balanced and the Moon looks larger than its just past new Moon size.
Tonight is the last day/night of NaBloPoMo (National Blog Posting Month). I am glad I did the challenge even though I was not good at daily posting the second half of the month.
What I am glad for is that I did it, I got the old blog going and dusted her off, scrubbed off a bit of rust, and added some oil to the joints. Why does this matter?
Well, with the descent of Twitter into the bowels of Mr. M’s version of the 35th level of Hades, my years of posting at other people’s or some large company’s social media sites are over. I had given up on Satanbook in April 2012, WhatsApp in 2019 or whenever Facebook changed the TOS for the worst, and Instagram as of Feb. 2020. I had held on to Twitter as my last bastion of any real internet presence as I mostly stayed quiet here and at Flickr.
I joined Mastodon in 2018, but didn’t really keep up with it, though I really like(d) the FOSS/Indie Web/Decentralized ethos. I renewed my posting to my Mastodon account this past month as I started blogging here again. Now to jump start my Flickr account, as I am paying for it.
Here is to a good month in the Indie Web / Own Your Own Stuff / Open Source social worlds. Here is to a good month blogging here at Black Phoebe :: Ms. Jen. I will do my best to post at least 1-3 times per week from here on out.
