NaBloPoMo 2022 : First Snow at Crowley Lake and the Glass Mountains

First Snow at Crowley Lake and the Glass Mountains. There is at least one half of a meter of snow or even 2 feet of snow. Anyways the Long Valley Caldera looks beautiful cloaked in the first snow of the year!

Thus. 11.10.22 – Today was a bit packed. I had a dentist appointment, it went well. There were web client meetings to arrange on the various internet meeting spaces. And then my Dad, the dogs, and I drove northward on US Highway 395 in the late afternoon to go see the First Big Snow of the Year.

It was 48F / 9C when we left Bishop and 19F / -7.2C when we got up to Lake Crowley. The trees were cloaked in snow, the poor black Angus cattle were still in their summer pastures all huddled together (Hello Bishop Cattlemen, TAKE YOUR CATTLE DOWN TO BISHOP OR OLANCHA, Thank you.), and the Lake was covered with at least 18 inches up to 2 feet of snow and so were the Glass Mountains. The snow was still perfect, even a day plus after the storm moved out. The whole of the Long Valley Caldera was cloaked in white, cold perfection.

I love winter.

This is the tenth daily post for #NaBloPoMo 2022.
